Tyler Atkinson

Tyler has been a Winnipegger all his life and was discovered by tweeting about his perspectives on wheelchair travel and wanting more attention to sidewalks.  He’s always planning his next outdoor adventure and taking time-lapses of his favourite routes… never taking the path of least resistance to find all the gems the city has to offer one sidewalk, street, path/trail, off-trail cut through at a time! Wherever his wheelchair can navigate,he looks forward to exploring.  Tyler keeps track of his travels by mapping out his wheelchair distance on google Earth and through his photography. He first lived in Beaumont, Varennes, and Glenwood before moving to Southdale in 1999, just in time for kindergarten. He attended Shamrock School for elementary, and graduated class of 2013 for both J.H. Bruns Collegiate & New Media Design at ATC. Riverview has been his neighbourhood since 2016, after getting his trach so he can keep breathing and enjoy the fresh air with the best medicine of all… sunshine(vitamin D). Tyler can talk about the weather all day and he loves being with nature!
