Ian Frank

Chair

Ian is a geographer and urbanist at heart who has happily found an outlet for those passions at Winnipeg Trails. He’s a tinkerer who loves working on complex puzzles involving people, places, and culture shifts. Ian works in consulting at MNP supporting clients throughout the prairies and northern Canada. He helped incorporate Winnipeg Trails as a stand-alone not-for-profit while completing his MBA at the University of Manitoba. He acted as Treasurer from 2017 until taking over as Board Chair in January of 2020. Winnipeg Trails is an energizing force in his life – working collaboratively with an amazing board, an inspiring ED, and an ever-growing group of passionate staff and volunteers. In this urbanist laboratory, he’s free to be a weirdo with grand ambitions for a Winnipeg he knows wants to exist.
