Open Indigenous Language Learning Table at The Forks

Winnipeg Trails’ SpeechTrails team is learning Indigenous languages and sharing! Join us for a welcoming, fun way to learn a language with others who are learning. We offer language sharing as a group,with the occasional drop-in from a mentor. Perfect for anyone whether you are a complete beginner or already started on your journey. Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants alike are warmly welcomed to try. Expect some really neat knowledge to be shared and lots of laughter.

We offer simple exercises, unique games and something new every time. Our specialty is Ojibwe/Anishinaabemowin, because its what most staff are learning, but we also have resources and an eagerness to learn other languages from here like Cree, Dakota and Michif.  If groups are large enough, we break into tables and you can choose.
